Guided Hunts

The Hunt You Want, The Experience You Deserve.

At Buffalo Creek Outfitters, we build every hunt around you - your experience level, your goals, and the adventure you want to have.

What’s Your Ideal Hunt?

The Hardcore Bird Hunter

Want to push deep into remote country and test your endurance? If you want long hikes, tough birds, and wild country we’ll take you where the birds don’t see many hunters.

The Classic Wing Shooter

Prefer a traditional upland experience with great company, well-trained dogs, and plenty of action? We’ll set the pace just right for plenty of fun.

The Family Experience

Bringing a new hunter? We specialize in making the experience safe, fun, welcoming and rewarding for kids, spouses and those new to the sport.

Hunt Information

All hunts are operated as “Day Hunts,” meaning your guide will pick you up from your lodging at a prearranged time and transport you to the hunt area for the day. It is important to set realistic expectations and be prepared for an active day. We strive to tailor each adventure to the specific needs of individuals but it is not uncommon to hike 6+ miles of hills, canyons, and basins in Wyoming’s high desert landscape.

Sage Grouse Updates

Historically Sage Grouse season in Wyoming opens the 3rd Saturday of September and runs until the end of the month. This means the 2025 season will run for 11 DAYS. If you have a wish to hunt please reserve your dates early as they will fill quickly.

As of 2024, all sage grouse hunters will be required to carry a free, annual sage grouse hunting permit. This new regulation aims to enhance the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s efforts to survey sage grouse hunters and gather valuable data on their hunting experiences. The sage grouse permit can be acquired at Game and Fish offices or online through the department’s website.
